With school just around the corner, the girls went to "Boot Camp". This year Alana Sisk organized and ran the Camp with the help of the upper class-men. They stayed at a resort at lake Somerville. Along with plenty of food, the girls were treated to some water sports. A boat was rented for most of Saturday so every one got their fill of tubing. The camp was a success and the girls that went had a great time getting to know each other and having some down time together.
With Boot Camp under our belts, the first meet was fast approaching. Along with it SCHOOL!
To get pumped up with carbs for the meet, the Wrights hosted the year's first spaghetti dinner. The girls were fed all the spaghetti they could eat along with salad and cookies. It was the first time that some of the freshmen had been with the upper class-men in a relaxed setting. The evening almost seemed like a last fling before the official start of school. Then it was off to try and go to sleep earlier than the normal summer bedtime with nerves building on top of it.
The next morning was a rude awakening for some. They had to be at the school at 5:30 to board the bus. Even though the meet wasn't far, we were co-hosting. The only good thing about the early start was that the first few races had the advantage of the cool morning air.
If you have pictures of these events or capture some in the future, please send them or post them. This is my first blog and I am still learning.
